The Kitchen...in progress

It's been a long journey getting the pieces of the kitchen partial redo done (we've redone the counters, taken out a half wall and installed a mosaic tile backsplash) and I thought I'd post a few pictures of the journey. That's me in the corner in the striped pj pants...I'm not much of a morning person. The above shot is the wall between the kitchen and family room with the "bar" area. It was very 80's and very unattractive. My brother's best friend Robert is the handiest man I know and he has helped us with numerous project, including tearing down this wall. Here he is above and below standing on our old tile countertop while ripping down drywall in preparation.

Just below is the photo of the open space after. The difference is amazing!

Finally, below are a few shots of the new countertop, sink and backsplash in action. We even tiled down one of the side walls to bring the whole kitchen together. We got the fantastic glass tiles at Mod Walls, an online tile store that specializes in glass tile and other cool tile types made out of recycled materials, tumbled stones and cork. They have great prices and ship free for orders over $200. Click here to check out their site.

Just a few more finishing touches (install new pendant lights over bar, accessories) and we'll be there! I can't wait to share a few beautifully styled final pics with you in a few weeks.

Now, onto the next project...
